This is an amazing story about three African-American ladies in the 1960s who slightly worked for NASA.
The characters are easily loveable and you can’t not be inspired by them as they had to work in some of the most difficult situations to get a human into orbit and return home safely too. Being women of colour at a time when segregation was still in place had many challenges, but their natural intelligence and determination shone through.
Kevin Costner is brilliant as the boss of the mathematical department and Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parson is not the quirky scientist we are used to and I feel his performance in this was quite boring somehow. Maybe that was how the character was suppose to be played – which was a shame.
The movie on the whole was brilliant and it was a great film for young girls to watch, especially for those who need great role models. Personally I loved the fashion element as well. Very ‘madmen’ type costumes which were lovely and perfect.
